12 x 122 calendar

In this thought experiment,
This calendar grouping has a period of 4 years, an Olympiad, during which there are 12 terms of 122 days, omitting 3 days from either:

  • the 2nd, 6th, and 10th term – to evenly space them.
  • the 4th, 8th, and 12th term – to evenly space them.
  • the 1st, 4th, and 7th term, if Olympiad starts on 1st January
    – to keep alignment with the Roman calendars’ end of year.

There are 3 terms per year, and 4 years per Olympiad.

The days could be numbered using a combination of duodecimal and decimal, such as 11 x 10 + 1 x 12. That is using a duodecimal number followed by a decimal number, except in the final week where a duodecimal would be used.

This table shows hows terms could be aligned to Roman months.
